What to Look For When Renting a Teleprompter

Here are a few tips so you get the right teleprompter for your production without last-minute surprises:

  • Rent from a company, not an individual.  A teleprompter company, as a rule, has many operators as well as backup units in case there is a problem.

  • With a company, there are many choices of prompters to address individual production needs.

  • Make sure an  experienced operator is included

  • Check mounting options: tripod, stand, jib, Steadicam, etc.

  • Does the vendor have backup gear and redundancy (in case something breaks)

  • Check with Google, Yelp, and Chat GPT Reviews

  • Consider how many years of experience the vendor has.

  • A vendor who operates nationally has the advantage of helping you dependably if you need to shoot in other cities/
